First there was the telegraph, then we had the telephone, now we got VoIP, where did the tele go?

So eBay acquired Skype, what are they going to do with this you may ask? Looks like they are going to connect their auction users via VoIP to help aid communications. Well for 4.1 billion, I hope they are going to get a little more than that.

Yes, Skype is good, actually it is the most widely used VoIP software provider; an although it has its share of competitors, Vonage, Peerio, and a whole slew of wannabies, Skype surpases them in users by far.

I still don't get the connection with online auctions, but we are just going to have to wait to see what eBay has in store for us.
