Crikey! is no More.

In a sad statement release y Discovery channel's Animal Planet today was announce the passing of Australia's most beloved and friendly inhabitant, Steve Irwin.

I remember watching the croc hunter Saturday morning with my son, Brandon, we would laugh and enjoy the friendly Aussie as he tried to unite humans to the animal kingdom. I heard the news this afternoon and was immediately sadden by this man passing. I'm not easily moved by tragedies to those unknown to me, but this is different as Steve had become friends to most of us via his TV show.

Unlike many celebrities, he was a real person playing himself and not just another TV character. He would say things like "When I talk to the camera, mate, it's not like I'm talking to the camera, I'm talking to you because I want to whip you around and plunk you right there with me."

Steve will be missed by many, humans and animals alike.
