Vista ships
For those of you who waited this five long years for the next version of Windows, then I'm happy to report that you have to wait no more. Microsoft has finally, after many, so many, delays, decided to release the new version of the Windows operating system.Thought the new OS doesn't have much to offer but a few cosmetics upgrades and antiphishing and antivirus protection. Microsoft claimed to have spent a lot of time working on security and antispam features. Part of the release includes the new IE7, which includes quite a few features, however, these come at the expense of slow loading pages and poor Web surfing performance.
If you happened to have purchased a new PC recently you are probably eligible to obtain the OS free of charge from Microsoft's Web site.
The bottom line is that with such few new features and Windows XP not really lacking all that much in the security department I don't feel in a rush to neither upgrade or purchase the Vista OS just yet. We will see what the stores will charge for the new OS soon when the shelves start getting stocked up.
