Corporate Restructuring
I read an interesting article today regarding the recent restructuring that Yahoo is undergoing. Many feel that this was a long change coming in a desperate attempt by the media giant to try to catch up with Google in the search engine space. It is funny as yesterday I receive my B-to-B newsletter with the headline stating that most companies don't rely or pay for search engine traffic. However, this must be a fictional statement as the SEO industry is one of the fastest growing technology industry today. Further proven by Yahoo! initiatives.
On another note, it was about time for the experts to hit the mark. I'm siding with these analysts, this change is definetly not very surprising. After all most Web sites undergo a redesign/restructuring every couple of years at the bare minimum. This is done to keep sites up to date and give them a new defining view. It is also a way to get rid of the old and underperforming elements and add all the new initiatives.
The bottom line is that I welcome this change and hope that with the restructuring they change their algorithm to make my sites rank better in the Yahoo! Search engine as they don't follow the Google pattern which allows me to do what I do!
