Doing the research
If I knew then what I know now, how many things I would have done differently. A phrase you hear often, perhaps more often than you think. This is mostly due to the fact that we tend to rush into things. We tend to get emotional, make fast decisions perhaps without taking the time to think things through. Sometimes we are afraid that if we don't take the opportunity on the spot, the offer will be gone. The thing of it all is that with age comes wisdom. I can remember my parents always telling me and me thinking, yeah, what do you know? Turns out they knew more than I did. Turns out they were right and I now find myself sounding just like them. It is scary, but it is something that happens to most of all.
Another common phrase heard nowadays is why didn't you make me do it then. This is often heard from adults whose parents gave up on. Parents who no longer wanted to argue with their challenging kids. I too find myself sometimes thinking if my mother would have made me do this and that or why didn't my dad force me to try it, at least more than the one time.
The bottom line is that we should strive to do all that we can to not find ourselves stating any of the above. In order to avoid making mistakes we should listen, not just argue. Take the time to analyze what others are telling you, you don't have to take their advice, but at least give it a chance not just dismissed it. Analyze all your options before you jump on an attractive offer or proceed with a plan cause you think others will disapprove. In the end you are living your life and you are the one who ends up paying the price for all your choices. If you are in the market to purchase a home, make sure you look at all your options. Take the time to evaluate what is right for you. Make sure you find the right locale and that you don't get turn off by what you see at first glance. Use your imagination and think of all the possibilities.
