Doing the research

If I knew then what I know now, how many things I would have done differently. A phrase you hear often, perhaps more often than you think. This is mostly due to the fact that we tend to rush into things. We tend to get emotional, make fast decisions perhaps without taking the time to think things through. Sometimes we are afraid that if we don't take the opportunity on the spot, the offer will be gone.

The thing of it all is that with age comes wisdom. I can remember my parents always telling me and me thinking, yeah, what do you know? Turns out they knew more than I did. Turns out they were right and I now find myself sounding just like them. It is scary, but it is something that happens to most of all.

Another common phrase heard nowadays is why didn't you make me do it then. This is often heard from adults whose parents gave up on. Parents who no longer wanted to argue with their challenging kids. I too find myself sometimes thinking if my mother would have made me do this and that or why didn't my dad force me to try it, at least more than the one time.

The bottom line is that we should strive to do all that we can to not find ourselves stating any of the above. In order to avoid making mistakes we should listen, not just argue. Take the time to analyze what others are telling you, you don't have to take their advice, but at least give it a chance not just dismissed it. Analyze all your options before you jump on an attractive offer or proceed with a plan cause you think others will disapprove. In the end you are living your life and you are the one who ends up paying the price for all your choices. If you are in the market to purchase a home, make sure you look at all your options. Take the time to evaluate what is right for you. Make sure you find the right locale and that you don't get turn off by what you see at first glance. Use your imagination and think of all the possibilities.

Christmas is upon us

It seems this year flew by so quick. So many things happened and yet so little to show. So many debates, so many arguments, so much laughter, so much happines and yet so much sadness.

That's the year in a nutshell. I prefer the way our good friend John Lenon puts it:

So this is Xmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Xmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young

A very Merry Xmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

...More

The bottom line is that this is a very religious time of the year and for a non beliver, like myself, it is a very difficult time. I always think back when I use to be a Roman Catholic, the stories that were told, and then at what point did I turned. Christmas for me is no longer about Christ, but I still enjoy Santa. I think the world has gone commercial. When was the last time you remember someone saying "let's go take a picture with the baby Jesus"? This is a wondeful time of the year, after all, I get a week and a half off and get to share with family and friends, I hope you do the same.

Christmas Wishes

A colleague send me this and I figured I posted here as it says it all.

For My Democratic Friends:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

We also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the generally accepted calendar year 2007, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great.

Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. And without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of their wishes. By accepting these greetings you are accepting these terms.

This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually
implement any of the wishes for herself or himself or others, and is void where prohibited by law and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher.

For My Republican Friends:

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

...and to all a good night!

12 days of Christmas

This is an Hindi style parody of the 12th day of Christmas. I'm not a religious person, but a fan of great animation. I hope that no one gets offended by this blog post. After all, this is a youTube video, so if it's good enough for Google, then it must be good enough to post on my blog.

The bottom line is that sometimes we are too busy complaining and arguing about each other's religious believes and trying to be politically correct. Religion has been the caused of many wars throughout human kind history. I thought the basis of religion is be good to thy neighbor, but apparently religious fanatics are too busy planning attacks on each other to remember this major point. Anyhow, I digress, the point is just be good to each other and do onto others as you have done to you. One last point, life is too short, relax, have fun, and laugh... at least once a day, keeps the heart ticking away.

Corporate Restructuring

I read an interesting article today regarding the recent restructuring that Yahoo is undergoing. Many feel that this was a long change coming in a desperate attempt by the media giant to try to catch up with Google in the search engine space.

It is funny as yesterday I receive my B-to-B newsletter with the headline stating that most companies don't rely or pay for search engine traffic. However, this must be a fictional statement as the SEO industry is one of the fastest growing technology industry today. Further proven by Yahoo! initiatives.

On another note, it was about time for the experts to hit the mark. I'm siding with these analysts, this change is definetly not very surprising. After all most Web sites undergo a redesign/restructuring every couple of years at the bare minimum. This is done to keep sites up to date and give them a new defining view. It is also a way to get rid of the old and underperforming elements and add all the new initiatives.

The bottom line is that I welcome this change and hope that with the restructuring they change their algorithm to make my sites rank better in the Yahoo! Search engine as they don't follow the Google pattern which allows me to do what I do!
